The Nike Air Jordan IX is about to make a major comeback. After watching other Jordans like the Nike Air Jordan III and the Nike Air Jordan XI make waves in recent years, it appears that the Jordan IX is ready for the spotlight. So, Nike is apparently gearing up to release a number of different Jordan IX colorways over the course of the next six months or so.
First up is the Nike Air Jordan IX “Cool Grey” sneaker, which is easily one of our favorite Jordan IXs. It features a tonal grey upper, some cool grey patent leather, an all-white midsole, the number “23″ stitched on the heel of the sneaker, and “JORDAN” written across the tongue. There’s not a whole lot to say about these. They look pretty much as clean and sharp as they did the first time that Nike released them. And, we’re definitely glad that these are the first ones that Nike will be rolling out again. If nothing else, the colorway makes them a must-have in our book.
Sneakerheads can expect for the Jordan IX “Cool Grey” to hit stores sometime in December, just in time for the Christmas season. They’ll retail for $160 and will be available in limited quantities. And, if you’re not into this color for whatever reason, stay tuned because there are going to be other Jordan IX colorways available sometime in the near future. Do you see yourself spending all of your Christmas cash on a pair of these—or would you rather buy one of the other Jordan retros that will be releasing before the end of the year?
The 2012-13 NBA season doesn’t officially tip off the final week of this month. But, already, sneaker companies have dropped a number of different signature sneakers for the start of the season. From the adidas Rose 3 to the Nike KD V, sneaker companies are working hard right now to make their sneakers stand out from all the rest before players start wearing them on the court.
The most popular sneaker by far right now? The Nike LeBron X that was created for LeBron James. Following all of the controversy that surrounded it when it was first announced because of the $315 price tag that was apparently going to be stamped on it (it later turned out to be “only” about $280), Nike got back into our good graces by releasing a steady stream of solid LeBron X colorways.
The best colorway for the LeBron X sneaker hasn’t dropped yet, though. And, it won’t be available to everyone, either. That’s because the “best colorway” for the LeBron X is the one that you’re going to be able to create for it. Earlier this week, Nike announced that you’ll be able to customize your own LeBron X sneakers through the NikeiD website beginning on October 9. So, if you’re somehow not satisfied with the colorways that have already dropped, you can customize your own.
We’re not sure how much it’ll cost for you to create your own LeBron X sneakers yet. Our best guess is that it’ll probably run you somewhere in the $250 range. But, regardless of the price, it’ll probably be worth it. You’re going to have trouble standing out in a pair of LeBron X sneakers this fall/winter due to all the colorways that’ll be available. So, why not create a colorway that’s exclusive to you? It’s the only way to make sure you’ve got your hands on a one-of-one.
